What Child Is This?

Christmas invites us to look into a manger—but Scripture demands that we see far more than a helpless baby. In this sermon, Dr. Rocky Ramsey declares the astonishing truth that Jesus Christ is fully divine and fully human, eternally God yet born into time and space for our redemption.

Jesus never began. He has always been—the Alpha and Omega, the I AM. And yet, this eternal God willingly entered our cursed world, taking on flesh so that He could represent mankind at the cross. As man, He could bear our judgment. As God, He could satisfy the righteous wrath of a holy Father.

Throughout His life, Jesus demonstrated His deity—commanding nature, forgiving sins, raising the dead, fulfilling prophecy, and foretelling His own death and resurrection. The One lying in a manger would one day hang on a cross, abandoned, absorbing the punishment we deserved so that sinners could be forgiven and redeemed.

But the story does not end there. The Christ who came quietly will return visibly. The Lamb will roar as the Lion. The Savior will return as Judge and King. This message calls us to reject shallow admiration and instead respond with total surrender, devotion, and worship.

Jesus didn’t come to be admired—He came to be crowned.
