God Is Good, Even When Life Isn't

Most of us have lived through seasons when life feels unfair, painful, or simply bad. Joseph’s life in Genesis 37 and 39 shows us that hardship is not evidence of God’s absence—but the backdrop for His goodness.

Joseph was deeply loved by his father but hated by his brothers. He dreamed of leadership but was sold as a slave. He lived with integrity but was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife. He did the right thing but ended up in prison—and even then, the person he helped forgot him.

Yet through every injustice, God was quietly at work. Joseph was protected, favored, promoted, blessed, and prepared for a future he could not yet see.

Dr. Rocky Ramsey challenges us to learn from Joseph’s story:

  • When life looks bad, God may be protecting us from something far worse.

  • God is with us whether we feel it or not.

  • Others may see God’s hand on our lives when we don’t.

  • If we choose faithfulness, God will bless and use us—right in the middle of our difficulties.

  • God often blesses us through the very circumstances we wish He would remove.
