Jesus Is the Light — Are You Following Him?
Jesus is the Light of the World, and Scripture describes His kingdom as a kingdom of light. But if Christians have been called out of darkness, what does it actually mean to live in the light? In "Walking in the Light," Dr. Rocky Ramsey teaches from Isaiah 2:5 and examines the practical implications of following Jesus.
Scripture first establishes that God Himself is Light. Jesus gives life and illuminates the way we should go. His light is not merely comforting—it reveals truth. Nothing is hidden from God's sight, including the parts of our lives we would prefer to keep in the shadows.
Walking in the light, then, means knowing and doing God's will. Light provides direction. When we follow God's truth, we can see where to go; when we reject it, Scripture describes us as stumbling through darkness without understanding where we are headed.
One of the greatest dangers is believing we are walking in God's light when we are actually following our own. A life that consistently resists God's commands, ignores His purposes, or refuses to love His people cannot simply be labeled a life of light. Our own desires are not a reliable source of illumination. Our hearts can deceive us, which is why Christians need the objective truth of God's Word.
Walking in the light means surrendering our direction to Jesus—allowing His truth to shape our decisions, relationships, priorities, homes, and purpose.
