Rewards in Heaven
Most people assume heaven is a distant, ethereal realm where everyone is the same and nothing connects to our current life. In this sermon, Dr. Rocky Ramsey takes us through 2 Peter 1:11-15 to show a radically different biblical picture. Heaven and earth will be united. We’ll live in physical, resurrected bodies. And—most surprising to many—not everyone’s experience will be the same.
Our eternal rewards are directly tied to how we live here and now. Some rewards are given in this life, some in the life to come, and some span both. God designed us to be motivated by rewards, but Satan tempts us to chase them the wrong way—through selfish pleasure, possessions, and power.
Your eternal rewards will glorify Christ forever. That’s why living with eternity in mind isn’t just good advice—it’s your highest calling.
“For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you. I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder, knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.”
