Raising Adults
Dr. Rocky Ramsey’s sermon offers the biblical perspective on parenting. He reminds us that none of us parent perfectly (Ecclesiastes 7:20), and even perfection wouldn’t guarantee ideal children—just ask the only perfect Father, God (Genesis 3:1-13).
The message explores the difference between simply raising children for now and raising adults for the future. Parenting isn’t about keeping kids happy in the moment—it’s about helping them grow into Christlike, responsible adults. That means prioritizing their future character over present comfort and happiness, recognizing that they ultimately belong to God, not us (Psalm 100:3), and embracing our role as stewards, not owners.
If you’ve blown it as a parent, this message offers grace. Own it, correct it, and where possible—make it right.
“When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.”
