My Times, His Timing
We all have a relationship with time. We can waste it, fear it, rush it, or wish we could go back and change it. Scripture teaches us that time is not beyond God's control. In Psalm 31:15, David declares, "My times are in Your hand."
In "My Times, His Timing," Education Pastor William Hunt explains the hard truths about time. Time is easily neglected, it cannot be renewed, and our days are limited. Psalm 90:12 reminds us to number our days, while Job 14:5 reminds us that the boundaries of our lives are known to God. Yet time is also a gift from God and a tool He uses to accomplish His will.
The challenge is that our preferred timing and God's timing are not always aligned. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that we may plan our way, but God directs our steps. Sometimes His timing feels sudden. Other times it feels painfully delayed. But Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that God makes everything appropriate in its time, and Isaiah 46:10 declares that His purposes will stand.
What surprises us never surprises God. Psalm 139:16 shows that our days were known to Him before they unfolded. So how do we trust His timing? We guard our hearts, remember His past faithfulness, surrender the outcome, and continue to expect God's best.
Our times are in His hands. The question is whether we will trust the One who holds them.
“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hand...”
