Resolving Conflict

Conflict is a part of every relationship, but it doesn’t have to lead to damage or division. In this sermon from James 1:19–20, Dr. Rocky Ramsey outlines a Biblical path toward resolving relational tension in a healthy and Christlike way.

The three steps are simple but powerful:

1. Tune In

  • Listen first. Make observations, ask clarifying questions, and show true consideration.

2. Tone Down

  • Humble yourself. You’re not always right. Everyone messes up. Be kind. Don’t act like a fool.

3. Lighten Up

  • Anger doesn’t make you strong—it exposes weakness and immaturity.

This message isn’t just about winning an argument. If you’re tired of strained conversations, broken friendships, or family drama, this message offers wisdom and peace in the middle of the storm.

If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
— Matthew 18:15
