How to Be Christian: What the Bible Really Says

In this message, Dr. Rocky Ramsey challenges one of the biggest emphases in modern Christianity: the tendency to focus almost entirely on becoming a Christian while giving far less attention to being Christian.

Drawing from passages throughout the New Testament, the message explains that Christianity is not merely about a past moment, emotional experience, or verbal confession. According to Scripture, eternal life is fundamentally a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

The message begins by establishing humanity’s need for salvation. Every person is born into sin and stands condemned before a holy God, yet God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus Christ to die in our place so forgiveness and reconciliation could be possible.

Rocky also addresses several misunderstandings commonly repeated in church culture. Knowing facts about God, Scripture, or Christianity does not automatically make someone a Christian. Salvation is not earned through morality or religion, but received by grace through surrender to Christ as Lord.

One of the central themes of the message is that genuine salvation produces transformation. Jesus taught that many people would believe themselves to be saved while lacking true relationship with Him. The New Testament repeatedly teaches that authentic faith results in obedience, surrender, and a changed life.

Ultimately, the message calls listeners beyond cultural Christianity and into genuine relationship with Christ—a life fully belonging to God.
