The Truth About the Cross

At the center of Christianity is a truth both simple and profound: Jesus Christ died in our place.

In this message, Dr. Rocky Ramsey shows the full picture of redemption through four realities: the problem, the result, the solution, and the response.

The problem is sin. Though humanity was created in the image of God, every person has fallen short of His standard. The result of that sin is judgment, spiritual death, and separation from God.

But God provided a solution. Throughout Scripture, from the sacrifices in Genesis and Exodus to the prophetic words of Isaiah, the need for a substitute is clear. Jesus fulfilled that need completely. He willingly laid down His life, bore the penalty of sin, and satisfied the justice of God.

The result is reconciliation. Through Christ, our sins are no longer counted against us. We are made new, declared righteous, and restored into relationship with God.

Yet the message does not end there. Those who are in Christ are called to respond with obedience. We are to live for Him, reflect His character, and carry the message of reconciliation to others.

Jesus did something for us so that we might live for Him.

For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
