Jesus and the Bible

Jesus’ view of Scripture leaves no room for doubt. He affirmed the Bible as prophetic, permanent, purposeful, perfect, and practical. He declared that not the smallest letter would pass away until all was accomplished.

Dr. Rocky Ramsey explains that the Bible is both God’s written Word and the revelation of God’s Living Word. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of Scripture, the source of Scripture, and the subject of Scripture. The written Word reveals who God is, declares God’s truth, leads us to God, and gives life.

Scripture is not merely a religious text — it is God’s voice, carrying eternal authority and life-giving power. To honor Jesus is to honor His Word. And to know the Word rightly is to know Christ more deeply.

A right view of the Bible begins with a right view of Jesus:

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 5:17-19
