Corryton Church Counseling Ministries
Corryton Church Counseling Ministries provides help to those seeking God's answers to the questions and problems in their lives. Counseling is available for individuals and couples. The ministry will counsel members, attenders, and those outside of the church.
What kind of counseling is offered
Counseling is available for marriage, parenting, relationship issues, and for personal issues such as addictions, disorders, fears, grief, depression, and anxiety. Our counseling approach uses God's Word and sound wisdom to coach needed change in people's lives. The insight of a trained and experienced professional can help us see problems from a new perspective and the need to change.
Who are the counselors
Brian Fields is the Pastor of Discipleship and Staff Counselor here at Corryton Church. As a campus ministry staff member, Brian informally counseled many students and staff in everyday issues. Brian has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian has used his educational training and previous experience to counsel in the local church and other venues.
Women may prefer to see Rhonda Mixon. Rhonda has a B.A. in Human Services and an M.S. in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. She has experience in helping people and families in mental health, school, and public venues. Our pastor says of Rhonda, "She will be a great help to ladies needing wise and godly direction for their lives."
how long will counseling last
Counseling could last only one session, but normally six sessions are planned. At that time, an evaluation will be made to determine if more time is appropriate. The length of the counseling relationship will be determined by the counselee's progress. As needed, monthly follow-up sessions can be scheduled.
