preschool check-in
Visitors should register at the preschool desk. Children will be placed in classes based on actual birthdates and individual development. A temporary Preschool Number is assigned to each family, a registration sticker must be applied to the child’s back, items labeled, health and allergy issues discussed, pickup policy discussed and security card given to the parent(s). Children and family are taken to assigned class. Visitors need to register at the preschool desk for 4 Sundays before receiving a permanent preschool number. They are then added to the role and no longer check-in at the counter. This allows the Director to get to know the families a little better and reminds the families of the security and check-in processes.
Preschoolers stay in the FLC building at all times on Sundays. (minor exception: in late spring, workers in the pre-K class can get approval to go to the park for playtime.) A few classes are eligible to use the Romper Room - our indoor playground.
Teacher to child ratios vary depending upon certain ages. We also have some special needs children and children with mild autism. One-to-one ratio is generally needed in these cases; therefore adding to the number of adults needed in a room. It is our goal to work with each family to meet the needs of their child in the best capacity that we can.
