Providing the Best Sport Experience for every child

Upward, the world’s largest Christian sports program for children, was created with a vision to provide the best sports experience possible for every child. Each year some 1 million people around the world play, coach, referee, or volunteer in Upward sports leagues and camps hosted by more than 2,600 churches. Anyone – children and volunteers of any faith or no faith – can participate in Upward sports. Specifically designed for children in K5- sixth grade, Upward aims to bring out “the winner” in every child – regardless of the game’s score.

Winning is about so much more than the final score. Upward is a first-class sports experience that emphasizes healthy competition, sportsmanship, skills building and fun versus the “win-at-all-costs” mentality found in many children sports leagues. Upward and Corryton Church have partnered together to provide the following leagues for Knox, Union and Grainger Counties.
Upward Basketball

Upward Basketball introduces and enhances basic basketball fundamentals and teaches the value of both teamwork and sportsmanship as players learn the game and have fun. The basket ball league for both boys and girls from K4 through the 8th grade. Sign-ups usually begin in the month of November. Evaluations are provided to even up teams. Games are played in the month of January and February on Saturdays. Click here for more information.

Upward Soccer

Upward Soccer is a sports program for kids which teaches the fundamentals of the sport while emphasizing sportsmanship and a winning attitude. This league for both boys and girls from 4 years of age through the 8th grade. Sign-ups usually begin in the month of March and evaluations are provided to even up teams. Upward Flag Football

Upward Flag Football is a fundamentally based league that teaches the sport as well as sportsmanship. Minus tackling and the kicking game, your child will gain every other skill that pertains to football. It is for both boys and girls from 4 years of age through the 8th grade. Sign-ups usually begin in the month of August. Evaluations are provided to even up teams. Games are played in the month of September and October on Saturdays. Click here for more information. Upward Cheerleading

Upward Cheerleading teaches the fundamentals of cheerleading by focusing on strong skill development and provides a safe, fun and affirming experience. Sign-ups are in November for the Basketball season and August for the football season. Games are played on Saturdays. Click here for more information.
