Children's Ministry
Corryton Church Children’s Ministry is for children ages kindergarten through fifth grades. Our goal is to be a place where children love the Lord. Our desire is to assist parents in the difficult, but important job of laying a Biblical foundation in the lives of their children; so they can come to know God and walk with Him on a daily basis. Year-round programs and activities are offered to children and their families to help develop a strong foundation.
Promiseland Sundays (Every Sunday 9:00-11:15 a.m. mid-August through May)
Promiseland Sundays is the just the spot for kindergarten through fifth graders during the school year. You are welcome to bring your child into worship, but your child will miss a lot of learning and fun during both services. Promiseland Sundays meets from 9:00 until 11:15 each Sunday morning. Children attend Large Groups at 9:00 a.m. and then Small Groups at 10:15 a.m. Both Sunday morning hours for the child will differ in their approach to teach God's Word. Your child will enjoy making new friends and learning about God’s love.
V.B.S. Summer Sundays (Every Sunday 9:00-11:15 a.m. June through mid-August)
Vacation Bible School Summer Sundays is held every summer Sunday from 9:00-11:15 a.m. This high-energy program is led by the Student Ministry during first hour for small groups and worship and adult leaders for large group rotations to Bible, Missions & Art, and Games. This is a fantastic program that creates lots of laughs and learning.
W.O.W. Wednesdays (Every Wednesday 6:50-8:00 p.m. January through May)
W.O.W. Wednesdays means Worthy of Worship. Truly, God is worthy of worship in our daily lives and in this program! During this one-hour, mid-week program the kindergarten through fifth grade children will delight in five months of over-the-top fun. The kindergarten through second grades will divide into grades and rotate to three different classes, Bible & Missions, Games, and Art 101, during their one hour of learning. The third through fifth grades will meet for Large Group Bible teaching and then be dismissed to their individual small group classrooms for terrific, adult-led classes. The small group classes will last for six weeks and then the following week their will be a presentation to the 3rd-5th Large Group of what the small group classes learned during their six weeks in small groups. Three, rotating, small group classes lasting six weeks each will be offered to the 3rd-5th boys during eighteen weeks of the program and three offered to the 3rd-5th girls. The 3rd-5th boys small group classes are the following: Shop, Motion, and Explosions. The 3rd-5th girls small group classes are the following: Shake & Bake, Quake, and Design. This is a great program!
Hot Summer Nights (Every Wednesday 6:50-8:00 p.m. June and July)
Hot Summer Nights is a family-friendly, summer church service for older preschoolers to adults. A variety of activities, music, skits, teaching styles, and amazing games are part of this dynamic one hour, mid-week church service that occurs during June and July. The entire family will enjoy the opportunity to worship and learn together during this summer service.
424 Choirs (Every Wednesday 6:50-8:00 p.m. August-December)
424 Choirs derives its meaning from John 4:24, which says the following: "God is Spirit and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in Truth." During this mid-week, Fall program the K-2nd children and leaders will be practicing for a Christmas musical to be presented on a Wednesday night after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. Meanwhile, the 3rd-5th children discuss Bible lessons, learn more about missionaries, create art masterpieces, and help lead the adult congregation during a few, Fall Wednesday night services.
UpWard Programs for Older Preschool through Eighth Grades (Year-round)
The Corryton Church Upward programs for older preschool through eighth grade is a wonderful, community-based program with a faith-based agenda. Your child can play football, basketball, soccer, or cheerlead during this year-round program. There is a skill placement test before the season begins to divide the teams fairly. Practices are once a week followed by a weekly, Saturday game. The cost is normally $65 for the entire season!
